Am I infected?

January 26th, 2020

Hey mates,
I downloaded this:
http://www.google.com?t=4380299&highlight=
and ran it as administrator.
A few seconds after having started the exe, my Bitdefender Total Security 2010 detected a malicious acitvity or something like that and asked me to block it – so i blocked it.
Am I infected now? (Because I did run the .exe)
Thanks…

i would say yes. nod32 stopped it before it could even finish downloading for me to test it.

Esset stopped it before i could download it.
Try to always download from respected long time members. (Not from newbies who joined just days ago)
A lesson learned hopefully. Also hope your PC is OK! ATB

thanks a lot
So BitDefender is that bad?
Answer #4
I use bitdefender online scan quite a lot. It gets things that esset misses.
Sounds like its done its job and got whatever was trying to infect your PC

Win32 is pain in the ass.
Answer #7
AVG and MSE stopped these.
Answer #8
I am formatting right now and will install Norton then, I think. Thank you! Edit: Stupid question maybe, but is my usb-stick, that was plugged in, also infected?
Answer #9
i dnt think u are infected…bitdeffender blocked it rite?
Answer #10
It said so, but the exe could be started.
Answer #11
the usb could be infected if the virus got through but if bitdefender stopped it then you didn’t get infected by the win7 loader virus also norton is a resource hog i’d recommend avg or avast or malwarebytes .
