If all else fails contact HP support.
Well, go to BIOS and set the boot device as your DVD/CD ROM drive. Then enter a bootable Windows XP cd, and start the installation. But note that you’ll have to format one of your drives, so back up your data.
try getting hiren’s boot cd (in AIO section) and wipe the drive before installing
use one of the partition apps on hiren’s to delete the vista partition then try your XP disk
i format the vista aka me c drive and let it start working with installing it the xp that is but when it restarts to go through the rest of the installation just gets to the windows is installing screen and 3mins later restarts only really done that since i upgraded to the f.3d bios update
even deleted me c drive and tryed it and still dosent work hp tell ya musnt like people changing from vista back to xp
did you reset bios defaults after update
You probably have a hidden partition with vista on it and that is probably giving you all of the issues..
!st. Get all of the xp drivers for the laptop.
2nd. boot to a cd that has a good copy of partition manager.. blow all the partitions, even the hidden and format.
3rd. load xp and install the drivers..
how would i find the hidden part what ya mean by partition manager ive all the drivers its just being the bios update that as really done it for me cause fixed me friends laptop back to xp easy but i adnt installed the bios update on he’s and just loaded easy as only being a problem with mine since i installed the update
