Half life 2 mods.

Is it possible to get any of the half life 2 mods to work with a downloaded version of half life 2?
I wanna play this:

But it’s pointless me downloading HL2 if it won’t work with it.

I did a search and no one’s made any of them available on this website, I’d have thought someone would have done it by now.
Are you sure they can’t be made to work?
I wanted to play HL2 with the portal mod too.

most mods dont work because it has something to do with owning the game on steam…

you can download half life 2 via a cracked steam such as pacsteam and install mods with it. i doubt you can play online though.
