Fake Antivirus Trojan

August 28th, 2013

This is the third time in about a month my pc gets hit by this. I im running eset. I will be browsing the net the esset will detect a .dll file as a trojan then quaratie it then seconds later i will get the fake antivirus warning. Win 7 Antivirus 2012 scanning all that ~lol~. I managed to clean up all infected files with Antyspyware doctor and eset but how come this keeps happening. Why isnt eset able to stop it and how can I prevent?

Answer #8
ESET NOD32 can be useful. Yes it can cause problems with PS3, XBOX etc, but you can work around these by tampering with the firewall but it’s not very user friendly.
As for removing the trojan;
Boot into Safe Mode with Networking.
Download MalwareBytes and update ESET NOD32. Run a FULL SCAN on both.
Get rid of all of the ~love~ that it detects, it should be able to get rid of all the crap in safe mode as it boots with the minimum drivers, meaning none of the ~love~ you would ordinarily be trying to get rid of isn’t active.
If you get any problems, update this topic.
