My iPhone never gets EDGE but only GPRS

My iPhone has neve been able to get an EDGE connection, only GPRS which is painfully slow.
I’m running 4.0 on 3GS, jailbroken.
I want to get EDGE instead of GPRS.

Maybe your area isn’t covered with EDGE…..
Or you need to edit APN settings in order to have EDGE or 3G!

A friend of mine got an 3GS from his mom who got an 4, and his 3GS gets EDGE and SERIOUSLY faster speeds then mine.
I will check his APN settings, I googled for my hosts APN settings and I just coudnt get the E logo.
He uses same carrier and same phone but on 4.1 instead of 4.0, does this matter – also not JB’ed.

Nah, that doesn’t matter! You need to check with your network carrier to setup your APN!

try adding epc.tmobile.com for your apn

I’m not on the crappy US carriers.
I use Tele2 Comviq in Sweden, seems like Tele2 just doesnt have EDGE, got free 3G tho, so win win
