Rapidshare Account Deleted
August 4th, 2016
Now, the problem is he hasn’t given his account info out, and he hasn’t been phished. The same thing even happened to his girlfriends RS account when she was staying at his house. Apparently the problem is his ISP, randomly allocating different IP addresses to him making it look like the account is being accessed by a number of different users.
Now i’m not an expert on this sort of stuff but is there anyway he can get around this issue (without changing his ISP, which isnt an option for him) using a proxy or somthing else? Any suggestions would be appreciated
I bow to thy knowledge
you have been phished contact RS
do he get this error after loging in or he got email
Hi, I’m the friend in question
No, I haven’t been phished. I know this because no-one has asked me for my details, and I never give the details out. I’m very careful with all my passwords etc, precisely because I’ve seen people been done over because they weren’t careful enough.
I get e-mails from RS saying they’ve changed my password because they think I’ve been sharing it, and I really haven’t. The IPs that they show are all one or two digits out, with only the second set of digits being different on all of them. But, this time, I tried downloading something and I was just told that the account had fraud detected and so was suspended, with no e-mail notification.
I’ve emailed them asking them to put a flag or something on my account to ignore any changing IPs like that, because of my ~ censored ~ service provider, but I basically got ignored and told not to share my details (which I don’t do anyway). I’ve emailed them again telling them to either give me my money back or reinstate the account and put a flag on it to ignore that kind of issue.
Thanks.

Tell them your account was hacked and you were unaware other people were using it. They’ll probably ask for some purchase proof and you should have your account back. I think that should work, don’t blame me if it doesn’t.
Generally some ISPs have dynamic IP and IP changes generally when you disconnect and reconnect to the server, so I will suggest, once you start downloading, dont disconnect in between complete whatever you are downloading and then disconnect. Also download everything in one stretch, ideally atleast try and use same IP for entire day, if RS sees couple of IP address in one day or something they might feel that account has some fraud associated with it. Hope this helps!!
rs isnt fool they wont recognise ur dynamic ip
usualy in dynamic ip only last digits change not subnet
so its easy to differntiate
Thing is, it’s not the subnet numbers that change, for some reason. It’s just…odd. Damn ISP.

I’d love to do this, but my modem is so rubbish it drops me randomly when I download stuff, so it’s not really an option until I get a decent modem. Thanks, though, it will be something I’ll keep in mind when we DO get a decent modem.
Moving to the Helpdesk section.
i too got a dynamic ip i never faced this problem even if i accidendly restart modem
I had the same problem. My account hadn’t been shared.
I e-mailed them and they sent me a bunch of questions, then confirmed that I was the only person using them.
Not sure if they’re using some automated fraud system and it bugged out, but just get in touch with them about it and they should be able to help.
I had the same problem and I emailed their support saying I used proxys, Your friend has probably got a dynamic ip, If he can he should ask his ISP for a static ip that way Rapidshare won’t think he’s sharing his account!
