Ventrillo + router + help

Hey, im trying to use the program “Ventrillo” so i can chat over the internet, but my router “sbg900” is being a piece of trash and wont let it connect.
I know this because when i goto the router settings and turn the firewall off, Ventrillo works.
Iv enabled the Default vent port and the port im using to connect with, but is there anything else i should do to make it work?
Why is it that when i turn the firewall off, only then it works?

Because Internet messenger programs like Ventrillo and other small ones are known to be “harmful” or “dangerouse” to some firewalls. What you can either do is everytime you use Ventrillo disable your firewall then enable once youve used the program. Or get a program such as Norton, CA or Trend Micro that is a virus scanner and has a built in firewall and permantly disable your routers and you will still be safe.
