CPU fan is going slow.

July 25th, 2016

ok, so i bought a CPU fan to make it run cooler than a stock fan, this must of been a few months back.
I just oped my PC case and i can stop it with my finger, its going really quite slow compared to by other fans..
Its a fan/heatsink if that makes any diffrence…
CPU is an intel core 2 quad extreme running at 2.67 (not over clocked)
and the temp is between:
30-56
Lowest to the highest over a week period.
is it ment ot be like that?

Answer #1
Depends entirely on cooler. And from looking at your temps I’d say it’s doing an average job at low speed. Try to increase fan speed in BIOS.
Answer #2
Yeah those temperatures look fine. The CPU fan has a setting to reduce fan speed to what’s needed to reduce noise; you can disable the feature in BIOS if you want.
Answer #3
Na its cool, just wondering as i don’t want me pc to die… again
Last time it was my fault though i guess… overclocked a pent D to 4.1
Answer #4
It’s almost definitely a feature in the BIOS, probably called ‘CPU quiet fan’ or something
Also, don’t try and stop the fan with your finger – that really won’t do it any good at all
Answer #5
Your temps are just fine. So no need for your fan to be going flat out.
