Broadband Speed

Dear Members/Admin, I have 256kbps static ip broadband connection, in which i get 26bkps of downloading speed and i have tried many programes to increase my broandband downloading speed and none worked.
Can anyone tell me which programe i should use so that it can increase my downloading speed.

You cannot magically increase your internet speed with some program. Programs can help you get optimized speeds from downloads. For example Flashget and IDM will help you get maximum speeds from servers such as the Rapidshare servers. Also, you are most likely confusing kbps with KB/s. With a 256kbps internet connection you will get a maximum of ~27KB per second (Kilobytes), so if you’re getting those speeds you are getting what you paid for

256 kBps bandwidth as well as download speed ?
Are you on Airtel 256 kBps or Bsnl 2 mbps ?
