how do i open .001 .002 etc files?

It could either be:
HJ split
Winrar
Try both, if HJ split doesn’t join it to a file with an extension, use winrar.

Sounds like HJ Split as the other guys said. But it could also be ‘Power Archiver’ files which will also end .001 .002 etc.

hj split, sometimes winrar doesn;t work for those, so good to have both on hand.

Use the program in my signature. It automatically handles those files.
