Do I need to install Windows XP SP1 before SP2 and SP3

January 23rd, 2020

I have Windows 7, but it started lagging and I dont think my computer can support it.. So I am going to do a fresh install of Windows, but I will install XP… now my question is, can I download Windows XP SP3 right off the bat, because I tried doing this once before and I think it didnt work, it wouldnt let me install.. so I had to go back and find windows XP Sp1 …. so is it possible to clean install XP SP3 or I need to find a XP Sp1 or 2 version?

First, post your system specs.
Maybe your PC is good enough to run W7, but the problem is something else then.
And Yeah, just download XP with SP3 and all should be OK.

If you mean with a copy of XP with SP3 integrated then no you won’t need SP1 and 2, it should do a full install automatically. Thus if you’re going to download a new copy, then yes it should work fine.
If you already have a copy of XP without any service packs, then it could be the problem where SP3 doesn’t detect SP1 although it should be able to install without it. If that’s the case, try this fix:

No you don’t. Every new Service Pack contains all the updates you need from the previous pack. So just go for SP3.

If you have a good pc you should install the win 7.
