I’ve decided to upgrade my CPU and GPU to these:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FX8320-Edition-4-0GHz-Socket/dp/B009O7YU56/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372891095&sr=8-1&keywords=fx+8320
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Radeon-DirectCU-Graphics-Express/dp/B008RW0R10/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1372891112&sr=1-2&keywords=7850
and also adding in an extra CPU cooler:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Arctic-Cooling-Freezer-Rev-2-Cooler/dp/B002G392ZI/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1372891157&sr=1-5
I’m just wondering what the recommended power for this is, will my 430w be able to handle it or will I need to replace it with a new one or my spare 650w power supply?
Thanks.
You can put your specs into this site and get recommended power requirements.

I've decided to upgrade my CPU and GPU to these:
FYI, Socket AM3+ and AM3 are NOT one of the same!
The FX 8320 WILL NOT work with your motherboard:

I hope you haven’t ordered it yet!
Better do your research next time.
Set that aside, AMD is way behind Intel in the gaming department.
You’ll get much more FPS with an Intel CPU than an AMD one.

I see, thank you.
Any recommendations from amazon.co.uk
of the hardware I should upgrade? I have a budget of around £300.
As you can see, I’m not entirely knowledgeable when it comes to building a gaming computer haha.

Mobo/CPU/GFX. 309.12 in total.
That’s the best I could come up with for such a tight budget.
But to be honest, You’d be better off putting it on hold for a while til you save up another 150 or so.
Then you could get an Intel Haswell CPU instead (Which will be better)
Gaming is not AMD’s strong suit, And you’ll always get more FPS with an Intel CPU.
As far as the original question goes, No, Your 430W PSU would be borderline, Better put that spare one into use!

Thanks for saving me money by the way, you’re a lifesaver. Thanks for the build too. I would rather go the Intel route but it would be requiring a different motherboard. Not actually sure what I am going to do, is there a good Intel gaming PC I can get while still getting a new motherboard?
This Intel combo would be better (And cheaper than I thought it’d be too)

Totals at 358. Anyways, If you’re still gonna buy a 3rd party CPU cooler, Make sure it’s compatible with socket 1150!
Also, Do keep in mind that this Mobo/CPU combo is not OC (overclocking) friendly (But I doubt you care about that anyhow!)
Edit: LOL, I just noticed you edited out the combo you previously suggested yourself.
Word of advice, since your so low on budget, skimp on the aftermarket CPU cooler for now.
Change the cooler once the fan bearing wears out.
It’s quite possible that the best gaming performance will lie with a FX-4300 and a better GPU instead. Invest in a better motherboard, say the Asus M5A97 R2.0 (and overclock the crap out of your CPU)

so you can pump the remaining cash into a better GPU, like the GTX 660

To the original question: A 430w probably won’t be sufficient for any of these builds. Just to be safe, you should have a 600w (any 600w from Antec, Corsair, PC Power, Seasonic…)
Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated. With around 400-450 what kind of upgrade could I expect (Intel preferably), would it be able to play games like Crysis 3 at a high resolution or graphics or would that take much more money? I may have around 450 to spend but I’m unsure at the moment.
