In the package I only got microphone, and no cables, so I guess I need something to connect it to my pc. I read online, and saw that this is “dynamic microphone” with “XLR connector”. As I am new to all this, I really don’t know anything about it. Before I used cheep desktop microphone, just plugged it in my soundcard, and I the quality was quite good (recording my guitar, nothing fancy or studio level). So, now that I got this mic as present, I am wondering, how do I connect it to my PC, and also, is it possible to connect it to my guitar amp??
My guitar amp is Samick 25w, the same as this one:

Can I connect this mic to my pc, or my amp?? I don’t need any studio quality, nothing special…..just wanna connect the mic to pc, and sing, record for fun…do I need cables only, or what?? Any cheep solution would be excellent…
Thx guys!
In order to connect it to your PC, You would have to purchase a recording grade sound card, Which will not be cheap! As far as your guitar amp goes, I can’t say as I wasn’t able to find any tech specs/manual for it, Nor any high-res pics.
This one with a small plug should suit your PC

And one with a larger plug to suit your amp..

This shows how XLR cables are wired…In your case you would need it in the unbalanced mode..

I don’t know weather you will get enough output from the mic to do the job..
You might need a mic preamp/mixer for that…but all worth a try…Good luck!
You have to match impedance; an adapter cable will not work to connect your mic to your amp. You have an low impedance (balanced) 3 wire microphone with an xlr connector. The amplifier has a 1/4″ phone jack input that receives a 2 wire high impedance (unbalanced) 1/4″ phone plug.
In order to connect your microphone directly to your amplifier you will need a line matching transformer:

… or utilize a direct box.

Thx guys for all the answers, and your efforts to explain everything to me. As I see it, it won’t be cheap to get this done, and record something on my pc through this microphone, so I might be better off buying another USB microphone….since I don’t need any studio quality sound, just recording for myself…
Thank you again!
