Cinevia protection on LG player…
July 26th, 2016
Does it mean if i update the firmware it will remove it, or are there any other ways round it at all if not?
I have an LG BP125.
you can try a update and see if it works but honestly you wouldnt really know till you do it…there is no way around cinavia… the ps3 was my main source for playing videos until cinavia was released..now i just have my pc hooked up to tv…problem solved
I’d take that report with a good pinch of salt..
It’s hard to imagine they’d stop implementing a protection system that works and isn’t cracked.
I used to be able to bypass it with USB playing, but they even killed that!
Protectionist fascist thugs!!
The thing is, if you already have it then an firmware update won’t hurt at all.. let us know if it does work!
Some of the movie copier programs are supposed to be working on a fix, but the only fix as yet is to rip the files from a bluray and demux the audio, delete it and replace it with the audio from the (usually) cinavia free dvd version.
Or play it direct from the TV usb port, if your TV supports those file.
Or play it from a laptop onto the TV via HDMI.
Hmm, my player still runs cinevia protected files through the USB and i don’t want the firmware update to kill that.
Might just leave it be and claim the USB working as a small victory.
Thanks for info though.
It’s possible that an update will kill usb play re: cinavia.
Unless you have a specific need to uopdate, don’t!!
And don’t go by what they say is in the update, they don’t tell you that cinavia is there (i updated a blu player because it said it added “more and better video file playing and faster menus”.. they didn’t say anything about adding cinavia protection!)
priicks!!
