How can I restore my windows 7 Toshiba laptop?
July 31st, 2016
Download Win7 ISO from here and use DAZ Loader to activate.
I don’t wanna do that, anything I can press or look for on the laptop itself?
If it has a builtin rescue partition, you should then see a message at bootup like “press F2 for restore” or soemthing like that.
It doesnt, I’m very annoyed, got a virus I can’t get rid of it. I wanna start over
Most Laptops that come with pre-loaded Windows will have a restore partition..
What combination of keys to bring up the restore option can be found in the laptop user guide..
Posting the Laptop Model helps..
How do I find out the laptop model on Toshiba on windows 7?
Look at the bottom of the laptop..It should be a sticker with the laptop make and model..
it’ll be one of the functions keys, like f11 or something. maybe even a fn + f11 etc. you will press it at startup
it will tell you at start up. just look around the screen. when the option comes up (repair your computer) highlight it and press enter. it’ll open the built in software. and then you run the factory reset option.
if you type your laptop model (e.g. Toshbiba satx205 + factory reset) you’ll find a tutorial that should hold your hand and walk you through it.
If all else fails, and you are unable to restore your computer. You can always download an ISO of Win7 and make a bootable USB drive. I know its a pain but it will be worth it in the end. I have a Toshiba Satellite, and Mine did not have a restore partition when I got it. So.. Yeah, I can’t really give advice. ALT+F11 is what I used to use. But chances are, you are going to need to do the whole reinstall via USB/DVD.
It doesn’t have f1-f11 or whatever on the laptop keyboard.
>.> How does it not have F1 – F12 on your keyboard, thats standard.. It will be found above your number keys row. >.>
It has the numbers but not f’s on it
O_O Really? I kinda want to see photos of this.. >.> Im having the hardest time believing it. What is the Toshiba Model?
I even looked in the settings and everything on the windows 7 and there’s no factory settings
You won’t find that inside of Windows, that is a BIOS thing.
Press F8 just before Windows boot and see if there is a restore option..Maybe just after Safe Mode..
Yes it has f1- and so on, So what do I press to get it up on windows 7
Good you have them. Okay so first try what suggested, shut your computer down and when you see the screen that comes up before the Windows Orbs you want to try and press F8 or F11. Give those a try. Let us know whats up.
It’s a Satellite L875D-S7230 Toshiba brand

I don’t have a restore disc so how can I do it
exactly as has pointed out above ,follow this james
I get PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM. Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in select Boot device a press a key.
I don’t have restore discs
you dont need a restore disk??
turn your laptop off then restart , then while its starting keep tapping the F12 key , which should take you into the above boot menu then follow what it says above
I get whole new message now insert media boot or whatever
read the manual for your laptop and see if you can get some info on there http://www.manualowl.com/m/Toshiba/Satellite-L875D-S7230/Manual/295161
because i cannot believe that you do not get your boot menu when you press the F12 key ?? as this should be standard for your model and also explains it in the manual ?? :-/
And if for some reason you are unable to get this done, which I have to agree with my hai here, it should have everything in the manual that came from the manufacturer. Make sure you are following exactly as what was described. Unfortunately instructions are meant to be followed step by step. If you can’t accomplish this because you did follow the steps and it came to no avail, then you have no other choice than to either burn a DVD with Windows 7 on it, or take the ISO and make a bootable USB.
Also, if for some reason F12 is not the key that you need to press, it is essentially trying to get you into the BIOS. So get into the BIOS or as they call it, the boot menu, and follow the instructions from there.
The restore partition may have been removed, and then you can’t restore it, and you have to manually install it from a Windows DVD. Did you buy the laptop new or was it used? If it’s used, the previous user may have formatted the disk and removed the restore partition.

That’s the message I get when I turn on the laptop
Then it sounds like you need to install from a disk/bootable usb. It’s really not that difficult of a task. For making a bootable USB

Hope you find this useful.
Does it mean the hard drive died?
It may have. Read this:

If your hdd is dead, that really does suck. Means you will need to buy a new one. Just make sure you follow every step in what they are talking about.
The boot menu comes up
1. HDD/SSD TOSHIBA MK6475GSX (S1)
and so on
Old article but for anyone needing this question answered in the future. Hold down the letter O key and press the power button until system has long beep. Then let go. This will take you to a built in system reset. Works on most systems 2007 and newer.
