DivX wont play a paticuar download

I have downloaded ‘Tyrannosaur’ from a couple of sources and when I go to play it DivX opens and then an error msg says DivX player has stopped working windows will notify you if a solution is found…. Very frustrating as wasting my download. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem… Thank you in advance

OMG VLC plays it why wont the DivX considering its a divx file. I may have wasted many movies thinking they didnt work. Thankyou

I’ll tell you what, sharz1. I used to install only individual codecs and audio/video splitters but it just became such a pain and there would always be files that wouldn’t play. I finally uninstalled all of them and tried the K-Lite Codec Pack. Now Windows Media Player can playback darn near anything and I find that more desirable than having multiple players.

VLC is the best. K Lite codec pack has several issues and memory leak problems.try using VLC.

I have found that PotPlayer would be the best all round..Works well straight out of the box.. With just about all formats.
VLC is handy to have for the odds and sods and damaged or incomplete files.

Thank you so much all. I guess whats important to me too is I play from my USB in my DVD player. Not sure what files it cant play yet. Thanks again I shall have a play
