Webcam makes audio lag

whenever im on skype videocalling it makes my audio lag, aswell in skype itself as in youtube or whatever.
i dont know what the problem could be as skype isnt taking all my cpu, it usually hovers from 30 to 50.
Hdd: intel x25m 2nd gen 80gb.
Cpu: intel q8200
4gb memory

Not sure I get it, Are you saying youtube lags while your on skype or that it lags regardless? You shouldn’t watch youtube, download files
or do any other bandwidth intensive things while skyp’ing! What’s your upload speed btw?

It could be your webcam. I got myself a HD webcam and that makes the sound crackly, it was ok with my old webcam. Anyways the latest version of Skype is supposed to support full HD video calls. Might be a bit better with that.

What sort of webcam do you have. Make / Model. That might be the source of the problem.
