Macbook Pro temperature questions

August 6th, 2016

Hello everyone!
I have a Macbook Pro and I have installed a program called Mac Fan Control to take control over my fans. The temperatures are pretty scary (for me since I don’t know what’s too high for a laptop) but this program allows me to set custom RPM for fans to be always running at a set speed and also allows the program to turn on the fans when a certain sensor becomes a little bit too high.
Well i was wondering, which sensor would be good to point the program control to? Here is a screen cap:

Any help would be greatly appreciated! (current temperatures are set to Fahrenheit)

Normal operating is from 45c to 90c (90c being under 100% load). Getting 80c is quite common.
You can look at a temperature database here:

You are running at 75c (167f). Why control the fans with a third-party app? This is already handled by OSX

Thank you for your response!
I feel like OSX isn’t doing a good job about it because I feel my laptop getting really hot to the point where I have to remove it from my lap because it was burning my thighs lol I didn’t even hear the fans running faster try cooling the heat!

Laptops are no longer laptops unless you want to steam your nether regions
Heat from the CPU is still a significant problem; the fans only blow it out (onto your lap) or hand or where ever the vents are.
