windows\system 32 error help

hello everyone
I have a HP laptop running xp3, download from here.
windows will not start and I’m getting an error message.
Windows\system32\config/system is missing or corrupt.
can someone please help me to boot my computer back.
Please guide me thru this process I’m new with computers.
