non-system disc error

trying to fix brothers hp compaq 6910p laptop running vita basic.keep getting non system disc error .the hard dive and memory are fine,configured the boot order still getting the error any help would be appreciated

Are you sure you have set the bios order correctly?
The Non-System Disk Error or Disk Error error message may appear when the computer BIOS cannot find a bootable operating system on any of the storage devices included in the notebook PC’s boot path. During startup, a notebook checks several devices for an operating system in a pre-determined order. You can change the order of the search by changing the Boot order in the system BIOS.

The error can mean a number of things:
1. The boot order is set incorrectly in BIOS. The HDD has to be set as the first device.
2. The MBR was corrupted by a virus or a faulty HDD.
3. The partitions were deleted either by the user or by a virus.
Here’s what I suggest you do, First backup any important data using a Live CD/USB, I recommend
you use Active Boot Disk for this task:

Extract, Install, Run, Register and create a boot cd/usb, Then boot from it on the laptop in question and backup the data to an external HDD. Also, You might wanna check the HDD’s health
with the included active disk monitor while your at it. After your done, Shutdown the laptop, Disconnect the external HDD, Power it up again and tap F11 til you get to the system recovery screen, From there you could recover the OS to factory condition, More info here:
