I have a question about burning blue rays/hd movies to dvd
March 2nd, 2021
The source of your download could be from blu-ray, but the file itself is a mp4/mkv/avi etc.
You can use something like convertxtodvd to convert to the dvd format and burn.
EDIT: there are many programs out there, some of which are free. The one I gave is just one of them.
is convertxtodvd easy to use? so if my blue ray i downloaded from this site Planes and it is an mp4 so if i use convertxtodvd wuld then make the mp4 small enough to fit on a dvd or could you please explain it a little more for me please
Just remember that they will be in Standard Definition, which is the DVD format. and not HD..
So they may look as good as a retail DVD but not a Bluray.
ConvertXtoDVD..

Very.
Just pick the movie, click convert, wait 30 mins then done. It will even burn it to disc if you choose.
I’ve used tons of convertors.. DVDflick, AVStoDVD, Freemake.. this one is the best by far!
WinAVI is simple program to use, but it will give you SD not HD as a the Blu ray is made, but good enough.
Better still, get a usb key/drive and connect to your drive/laptop to TV and don’t bother to burn just use the TV as your monitor and watch this way– cheaper in the long run.

NO. they’re just containers. most if not all bluray’s are x264. they will either have a .mp4 or .mkv container.
you can use WinAVI or converxtodvd but please note, you will lose quality.

Agree. Used ConvertXtoDVD with Verbatim DVD+RW 16x (Made by Mitsubishi Kagaku). Now use ConvertXtoDVD with VSO Batcher. After converting I just drag and drop to a 32 GB Flash Drive. DVDs got scratched and became quite useless. Been using the same Adata Flash Drives over a year and they’re still going strong. On sale can be bought for about $10. Make sure they’re USB 3.0= faster read/ write.
just burn to iso, mount then play! Best way to do it! Don’t waste valuable dvds and money!!

Lol what? Are you serious? Converting to DVD definition thus reducing quality and wasting time to playback the resulting file to PC? Why not play it as is ?
Yes, I should imagine that the OP only wants to convert it to DVD so he can play it on ye olde DVD player
I am only offering a suggestion.
