Outlook 2010 ignore read receipt rule

January 27th, 2020

Now i know in outlook 2010 you can disable read receipt either completely, or u don’t disable them. That’s NOT what i want. I only do NOT want to send them if the sender is a certain someone. Now i know it has something to do with stripping “Disposition-Notification-To: ” from the header. I’ve found in e-mail rules i can detect it in the header if its from a certain address, but i can NOT select as an action to NOT send one in that case.
Want to know because in most cases i only get an occasional request for a receipt so in those cases i usually send one, however i’ve got one person i mail with on a very regular schedule that ALWAYS requests a receipt. Now he knows i usually respond quick to his mails, i just want to disable the read receipts from his mails and leave them active for others.
The question is how do i do it. I’ve googled my butt of and only found this to be possible so far in Exchange 2010, which is not what i use.

You make it sound like a social problem with a software fix. Is it possible to take this and imagine it as a software problem and apply a social fix?
Just ignore his read receipts. Even better: ask him nicely to STOP stating “you know I get back to you fast-please trust that I will give your email the diligence it deserves.”

not an option, because that person works for a company that 1) has that enabled for internal use and 2) has been using it personally too for 20yrs.
I can’t make him change HIS and company ways just to suit me can i? I need/want to adapt to his setting
