And what’s the point of this anyway? The electrical output will be really small, unless the generator spins really fast — which I highly doubt it, judging from the size of the vane & wind power needed..

I’ve done a couple of tests with fans of various sizes when looking for things to help charge batteries. I can tell you that a fan that small will at best generate ~6-7v. And it’s going to require a LOT of wind. I held mine over the air conditioner unit outside to get some wind on it. Additionally, amps will be low.
Not sure what your end result is, or perhaps just testing. I learned a lot trying these types of projects. For instance, a standard oscillating fan that’s been modified with some neo magnets can turn into a nice DC power generator.

I made one of these – I use it to charge 2 AA batteries for a camera.
It charges in about 5-8 hours depending on wind speed, I just leave it over night and have fresh batts the next morning.
