How do you make small iso’s?

December 17th, 2013

Hey
I have just downloaded age of empires I, II, III, mythology and all the expansions.
I remember trying to rip age of empires II and III and rise of nations (thrones and patriots included – gold edition I think) so that I had a backup.
It was say… 4GB… but I downloaded it yesterday and it was only 400MB…
What I want to know is, how do you make the iso’s so small? what ripping software do you use?
Thanks in advance!

Answer #1
Hmmm, The iso is generally the same compression with any program, Power iso is a good program or deamon tools, But the reason why it said 4BG And the iso is only 400mb is just simply the installation process.
Answer #2
he is talking about rips / repacks?
usually when they make a dvd game they put something called 0 padding so the game might be 400mb but the rest of *cdr as example* 300mb will be blank 0’s in data
when u rip u take away the 300mb and repack it as 400mb
also repackers delete all teh stuff you dont need * other languages certain textures, demo’s, videos
and then re-encode the hd videos down to a smaller file size
they also re encode the audio instead of having 500kb soundbytes they might be 20kb
they also convert textures to another smaller format lets say a game has 4000 *tif *bmp *tar files as textures they might be 2 gigs just because they are in that format a repacker will convert them all to .jpg so those 4000 files are 100mb and then when installing the game the installer will re convert them to those before said formats

Pretty damn impressive response….
I want to release stuff like skidrow and razor-1911 (named myself after rzr-1911… – Jagged – Razor…. 1600 – 1911)
I already know how to make game cracks… but I don’t want to download the skidrow game…. throw out the crack and implement my own….
Would gamejackal be a good decision?
Answer #4
making game cracks is not easy and is done in softice or ollydb
and gamejackal hasnt been used since 2007 and wont support and new protections
if u look at people like i am awesome who releases all the blackbox rips they just repack scene releases
