Secondary Hard drive Will Content Get erased?

August 22nd, 2013

I am upgrading my system (New Motherboard)and I want to do a fresh windows install. I have two hard drives Primary drive is 750 and the secondary drive is 1TB. The Primary is where I have the operating system and the secondary I have movies and music mainly. Will the data get erased on the secondary drive if I install windows on the primary drive. I am assuming it shouldnt since I am only formating the primary drive to install windows but I am not 100% on this.
2nd Part
Once I am done installing windows on the primary will it recognize the secondary drive and all the data in the hard drive.(Plug an Play like an external drive..since its only a storage drive)
Thanks in advance

Answer #1
Nope..Your second drive or partition won’t be effected..
If you are worried..Disconnect the drive and connect it back after installing..
Answer #2
Shouldn’t be a problem at all for either of your concerns. Windows will only overwrite the drive that you specify (primary) and nothing special should be required for the new install to recognize the second drive.

Yes – easiest solution, if you are worried, or have been drinking alcohol
I always have to disconnect the internal card reader on this desktop, first time I re-installed, my OS ended up marked as F:\ or something.
