OMG what is wrong with motherboards.

August 4th, 2016

I mean this is my 2nd motherboard that I went through and this motherboard has an internet lag. I have the intel gigabyte lan so why am I lagging? I have an 25/25 connection which is good enough for gaming so that makes no sense. My last motherboard had some weird computer glitching/graphical glitch/motherboard and keyboard and lag. Now this motherboard is good but there is losing connection even though I installed all the driver including the lan driver. My last board didn’t disconnect but I lagged with it. Oh yeah and this motherboard when I click on keyboard or mouse it doesn’t wake up from sleeping so I have to press the power button which isn’t annoying but just weird.
Which board can I choose next? I hate going to microcenter and driving about 1 hr back and forth all together. Can anyone give me some advice? Which board is perfect for me to try next?

Please tell me if think these motherboards are good because I am tired of having to travel far just to be unhappy with my purchase.
EDIT:
Boards I have tried is Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI and MSI Z97S kriat edition(current). I really like the kriat because it matches my case color but the lag err. Both of them have intel gigabyte lan maybe that is the problem?

in last 2 months , i wrote at least 5 topic of yours , possibly the first one was when you were building up your system. i told at that topic to buy asus maximus vii ranger. it is similar with one of the boards you have written above , asus maximus vii hero. the only difference between them , hero have more power pins for fans , a few extra sata slot and slightly better voltage management for overclocking. so if you buy ranger you wont get a slight difference unless you need one of those i told. ranger is cheaper.
intel lan controller is the best lan controller currently , all top range motherboards use it so i dont think it will be a problem due to it but maybe with your ISP. one note about z97 chipsets , it is strange but intel does not support completely them in terms of drivers. so the brands themselves build their own driver updates. for example if you go to intel download center for intel chipset installation tool you will find latest version something like 10.0.113 but all motherboard brands have version of 10.0.117 on their sites same goes for lan drivers.
so go to your motherboard’s page and download the latest from there if you didnt already do. if problem still persists , go and buy the ranger. do i need to have vip status for people care about what i said lol

Maybe you should look at what you’re doing first before……..
Yeah.

Microcenter doesn’t have a vii ranger but only a hero or a formula which cost $329.99. I don’t want to buy an expensive motherboard because I don’t overclock or anything like that. I keep my processor stock and my gpu stock + I don’t even have an unlocked processor. I bought the 4590s for a reason. I only play games and some internet browsing but I don’t even play much so sometimes the computer is sitting just there. I mean if I was a real gamer I would but I don’t play enough. I just need something that works. I always downloaded drivers from the mb website.

Exactly what should I be looking for? Computers boots fine, works fine and only lag is killing me when I do decide to play.

I do not think that this is an issue with the board, rather with the line and / or the OS.
Turn on the windows performance monitor and start a game in windowed mode to see what is happening in your system. Could be that some application is eating up your network or the drive is failing … Another thing to check out is QoS , possibly configured in your router / modem. Try to give your mac or the ports your game uses some more priority over other traffic and you might solve the issue.

Hi,
In the topic you said you’re losing connection. On the 4th you’re saying the lag is killing you. What is exactly the problem? Or is it both?
Please verify your network speed in a browser and report back.
http://www.speedtest.net/
If the result is less than 25/25, please check again on a different computer, or even a phone. 8/8 should still be playable.
Also, try canceling the IPV6 protocol on your connection and saving power management for the LAN card.

You need to test your internet connection.
As others said, you need to test your internet service. If that is your problem, you are wasting time and
money like crazy switching out MB’s. What have to done to confirm that the internet issue is NOT your ISP??
run local speed tests.
Post your router signals in your ISP forum for help
Run http://www.pingtest.net/
Use Pingtest.net to determine the quality of your broadband Internet connection. Streaming media, voice, video communications, and online gaming require more than just raw speed. Test your connection now to get your Pingtest.net rating and share the result with others!!
What have your done to check the game servers you play on???
Best to determine if your internet connection is crappy first. Otherwise you may
never find a working MB
Oh yeah and this motherboard when I click on keyboard or mouse it doesn't wake up from sleeping so I have to press the power button which isn't annoying but just weird.
That is the default action. Change the way your system settings in control panel, power options

ranger is most basic rog motherboard from asus for z97 chipset. i remember i was asking if you are going to overclock or need wi-fi and such , you said you wont and then ranger seemed the best option , since hero is almost identical with ranger except its slightly more price , you can buy it too. dont even think buying formula , it is really expensive as you said.
since we talked in the first place which is a few months ago , i saw a rising star for price/performance gaming boards
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z97PRO_GAMER/
this one , almost identical to rog motherboards in terms of material quality , just lacks a few rog features that you probably will never use. also cheaper than all , look your shop if it has this.
if you can confirm your problems are related to motherboard , i suggest you to take a look in z97 pro gamer

Probably was the other motherboard problem. This motherboard doesn’t seem to have any of the issues as said with the previous boards. Was getting at least 1 Mbps from speedtest and now I am getting my full speed 25/25 with this new board. Still has Intel Gigabit ethernet but I guess this one works like it should.

i told my first post on this topic , your issues can be related to isp but since you only had problem with connection with 1 motherboard as i understand , it is not an issue. z97 chipset and motherboards are new so they are more likely to have problems which can be corrected through bios update but if you are not experienced with updating or flashing(as many people say) bios , you may just get more problems. you can look the release notes of bios updates for your motherboard to see if it fixes any of your problems.
eventually if you end up with buying a new motherboard , first take a look at asus z97 pro gamer , if it is not available then buy hero . it is the best among your options.
