Help With Windows 8.1 ISO
February 1st, 2020
I just downloaded W8.1ProX64Update3Multi-8Apr2015 from here but I don’t know how to install the program. I’ve tried using POWER ISO but I’m not sure how it works…..is there anyone that can help me? I need to reformat my laptop urgently.
Thanks
Installing from DVD or USB ?
Trying to install from USB
Use Rufus to load the OS image (.ISO) to a USB drive (Thumb drive or external drive) bigger than 8 gig is suffice. Once Rufus has done it’s thing, boot the laptop using the USB option in the bios as first preference, it will work the same as a DVD. You can’t burn Win 8.1 to a DVD unless you have a dual layer disk and burner as the 8.1 image is too large to fit on a standard DVD, thus the easiest way is to use Rufus to create a bootable USB drive with the Win 8.1 image loaded on it.
Make sense? This is a semi-advanced process but not impossible, just get Rufus and read the instructions. One trick for young players, if your thumb drive or ext. drive does not show up in Rufus as an option, press Alt. F and it will magically appear.
Make sure you create the USB drive as a bootable drive, just like you would when burning a DVD.
Good luck!
You have to burn it to a DVD or create a bootable usb/SD card
Mounting the image won’t work because it won’t be loaded by the software during boot
As said..Use Rufus..It’s free..
Install and run Rufus to create a bootable install usb..
Point to the iso and take it from there..It’s a very simple process..

Follow this and remember that if you have a computer that is less than 3 years old you have to make it UEFI bootable instead of NTFS.
