Windows 8 start menu doesn’t work

So Im getting this problem with my start menu where I can’t have Control Panel and all the other folders on the right side. The start menu goes blank and I can’t get it back to how it used to be. Can someone help me with this?

Did you install interface modifications?

I don’t think I have. The changes happened Im assuming while my brother was using my computer. He might have done something or installed something I am not so sure.

Use Classic Shell, it’s the best freeware Start Menu replacement for Windows 8.
