Gaming PC?
August 2nd, 2013
I am thinking of building a gaming pc i have a budget of about $1000-$2000 australian dollars. Was wondering what would be the best parts to run a decent gaming pc?
I want to connect my pc tower to my 50″ tv. I have no parts except for my tv so let me know what you would recommend for a good pc.
Thanks
Gather the parts from ARC, they have guaranteed stock unlike MSY.
definitely i7 or Quad processor with minimum 3.2Ghz..
4 or 8 gb ram..
nvidia gtx 580/560 or amd 6970..
HDD of 500 gb minimum..
these r the main specs u need..
dono whether it`ll come under ur budget..
My ati 6870 plays all games out at the morment no need to wastes 100’s on a gfx card. CPU it’s only a x2 245 running @ 2.9 no slow down gaming at 1980*1200 on a 24″ HDTV also on my 42″ no problems
with that price you could buy a great PC easily.
I agree with jordan no point spending so much! Look at my system specs bellow runs saints row 3 on ultra!

saints row isnt demanding, try bf3 on ultra or crysis2
If you’re building one for years to come,I would stick with kevindina, just add a SSD 120GB.
They are great, should be between 1600-1700 AUD.+Desktop screen?

Hey kevindina what motherboard would you recommend for those type of parts you mentioned?

Mate thanks for the heads up it will make things easlier at ARC then
any motherboard`ll do wch supports ddr3 n graphic card slot!!
Asus sabertooth n gigabyte z series motherboards r the best!!
If u r not choosy just buy any motherboard wch supports the specs i mentioned.. tat`ll do..
Grab a good monitor, the tv will be rubbish as a PC monitor.
You don’t want to spend loads on a good gaming PC to then have your games look sub standard.
Ok sweet thanks for the advice.
So I’ll be getting
motherboard: asus sabertooth, Ram: 8gb , Hdd: 1tb , Graphics card: nvidia gtx 580, CPU: intel i7 3.4ghz
The case I’ll have to see which one i like from the shop.
O yea for the psu does it matter how much watts go into it?
I have a 850w one but not sure if I should buy a new one or not?
Thermal and Power Specs:
Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 97 C
Graphics Card Power (W) 244 W
Minimum Recommended System Power (W)5 600 W
Supplementary Power Connectors6 One 6-pin and One 8-pin
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gtx-580-us.html
850 should be adequate
well my specs are:
GIGABYTE GA-MA790XT-UD4P
AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
GIGABYTE ATI HD 5850 1GB GDDR5
2x2GB Corsair XMS3
well it’s now 2years old and just the new alice what makes it lag a bit, BF3 running on max without any problem and this spec is cost about 500-600$
so i think you can buy a killer pc for about 1000$ now and you will be good for another 2year
anyway now i would suggest an I7-Nvidia combo with 8gb ram
