Hi lite table cells on mouse over

I have a webpage with tables with <TR> and <TD>,
There is a css file that controls the color etc, The code in the css file for hi lighting table cells works with FireFox but not with IE9.
I found a webpage that has the same code, it works.
It hi lites the cell in Firefox and IE9.
Why my page does not work in IE9 I would like to know.
Is there someone that can tell me?

That’s the reason why IE is so bad. When it comes to this matter it’s always different than the other browsers. The simple explanation is that IE interprets the code differently from the other browsers.
