Graphic Card Choice?

August 2nd, 2013

Which one should i go for?
HD 6790 256 Bits 1024MB DDR5 840MHZ by SAPPHIRE
HD 6790 256 Bits 1024MB DDR5 840MHZ by HIS
GTX 550Ti 192 Bits 1024MB DDR5 951MHZ by EVGA
GT 450 128 Bits 1024MB DDR5 783MHZ by EVGA
Now i personally prefer GTX 550Ti, but i have searched on google and according to people on www.tomshardware.com its not the best choice.
I’m going to buy one next week. So guys, i ask again. Which one should i go for?

GTX 560 Ti, or at the minimum a GTX 460 1GB
Answer #2
GTX 460 1 GB is discontinued i guess… :S other wise, its the best card ever….
GTX 560Ti too costly for me….
Answer #3
MSI HD 6790 in my opinion, but the brands you mentioned are fine too.
Answer #4
I dont have MSI brand available for that card. But is this card better than GTX 550ti or GT 450?

A GTX 460 if you can find one, but other than that the HD 6790 is a better performer.
Sapphire is the EVGA or AMDs.

It depends upon what you intend using it for which will be most suitable.

I intend to play games in high/ultra settings on 1680×1050 resolution.
Really do not like ATI cards… Had a bad experience with them.
So GTX 550 Ti is the way to go. The choice has been made.
Thanks for helping out guys. Appreciate it.

No, they are NOT the same cards. Completely different. They have different cuda cores, memory bandwidth, etc…
It ranks like this:
HD 5770<GTX 550 Ti<HD 6790<GTX 460/HD 6850<GTX 560/HD 6870.

If you wish to buy a Graphics card then consult the chart below and try to buy a card as high in the chart as possible by your budget. Before you buy a new card, make sure that your case and power supply can accommodate it.

Im not going to buy ATI graphics cards. I prefer NVIDIA’s.
vishnubabu replied: Nvidia GTX 560.
Yeah im also going to save some money and buy this card. I’ve found out that GTX 550Ti is not that great. It gets the job done but for a little more price you can get a much faster and better card that will last longer.
Thanks for all the help guys.
