Best data recover software?

July 23rd, 2019

After hibernation the Notebook did not start anymore with the first try, a message displayed, something like, the computer cannot be started from hibernation. The Notebook started and there was no access to the second (partition (of 2 ones on that drive, the first partition has the OS, Win 7). When I try to access the partition a message appears to first format the partition.
In the column “Filesystem” in computer management for I: is shown “RAW” and no problems, for C: still is displayed “NTFS”.
Which data recovery software could I use best to recover the files?

I don’t know about best, but I use GetDataBack..
You can select the “Systematic file damage. e.g Format or FDisk ” option…

What’s your operation system? Most of them have system repair disks you can get and use from a boot that would rebuild your system files without effecting your data. You will lose all your critical updates that are not on the disk but to save your data it’s worth it. With XP (higher than home) you can use your actual install disk by passing up the first mention of repair. Then later as it goes thru and recognizes there is already an install, it offers a second repair option. That’s the nondestructive repair option. If you google nondestructive repair and your OS, look for a tech help page or the one I found years ago “the langa letters” site for more information.

It could be that its going bad and you may not be able to recover stuff from it. But the first partition where OS is still works? Doing Error Checking on the Raw partition does not find bad sectors?
I had good luck with GetDataBack NTFS, so I recommend it as well.

I have Win 7, 64 bit. It appears to be this website you are mentioning: http://www.informationweek.com.
Alright, I would try it with such a repair option after trying to recover the data with some usual recovery programs.
But the first partition where OS is still works?
Yes, it still works, but at the moment the Notebook just shuts off after some time, so I will have to disassemble the drive.
Doing Error Checking on the Raw partition does not find bad sectors?
I do not know, I didn’t run a test program, but I assume there will be some bad sectors.

Thank you, yes, I did a recover with it, it appeared to work well.

Thank you, yes, some time ago, I had used it, it had worked very well, but the last try with the actual problem did not recover a single file.
