{SOLVED} Upgrading from 32 bit to 64 bit {SOLVED}

January 17th, 2014

Hello, i want to upgrade my pc from 32 bit to 64 bit.
I know that i have to do a clean install but i was wondering if my registry entries from 32 bit would work on 64 bit system.
I was also wondering if 32 bit software (not drivers) would work on 64 bit systems if i installed them to any directory in the entire pc. Not in the program files x86.
Please Help!
Thanks

i’m no expert so sorry if wrong… about registry entries i think it wont do because of different directory of 32bit and 64bit…
about the software, most software can run in both windows, but some u need to buy/download the specific type (32bit or 64bit) e.g. AutoCAD 2012 32 bit and 64 bit… for most games u can run it in both windows (never get a problem with game myself)… and yes u can install anywhere u want…
EDIT: and sometimes u still get folders in program files x84 even if u install in other directory that because for the system of the software

on 64bit, some registry entries go to
HKEY\Local Machine\Software\Wow6432node\
instead of just under
HKEY\Local Machine\Software\
Otherwise, it’s the same.
