[Solved] Pc freeze at bios

my pc hangs on bios
what happened :
i installed windows 8 and because of my nas connection i needed to replug my internet connector.
then ny pc frooze and i powered off my computer
after i restarted it it doesnt go farther then bios also it wont let me go to boot screen
i think that my cpu is broken.. what do you think?
unplug hdd vga from Mb remove battery from Mb 4 10 min restart enter bios

Not at all!!
An OS problem cannot possibly make the HDD freeze on post (BIOS info screen),Only a bad HDD can do that.

Explain in detail what is going on. Can we get specific details?
What exactly do you mean by “doesnt go farther then bios”.
I guess what you mean by that is the computer POST just fine and allows you to enter setup and change BIOS configuration?
If that is the case, then your motherboard, ram, and processor appear to be working.

As Roberto already said, check the HDD cable, as well as the cable to the optical. If all the cables are connected properly, and known good, try a different HDD.
Something along these lines is probably your problem.
Worst case scenario your SATA/IDE controller on the motherboard is going out.

Not sure I’d call that solved as he’d need to replace the HDD for that.

Bottom line, I always recommend people add [Solved] to the title to avoid any confusion.

I read between the lines, and from the original post, it looks like Windows 8 was trying to boot from the NAS. I may be wrong though. But we can wait for the OP to reply again to clarify.
I do wish people who don’t have a clue about beta OS’s (eg. basically what Windows 8 is) , installing it as their main OS rather than running it in a multi-boot situation, or virtually.
