[SOLVED] Internet distribution

Hi,
I have a PC which is connected to the internet using a 3G USB modem to be as a server or access point from which i can than connect that PC to a router which is connected to my other PC’s which are connected to the router, so that the other computers also get internet. Is that possible? Which is the best method? How do i do that?

Just do it exactly how you stated.
Connect an ethernet cable from modem directly into the WAN port on your router and connect all the other computers via LAN ports from the router. (802.11 for wireless)

Best way to go would be getting a 3G capable router that supports your particular USB dongle,That way the other PCs
will not be dependent on yours for connectivity,But other than that,You could use a wireless card in reverse mode (ad-hoc)
to share the connection or a switch along with ICS (internet connection sharing),But the first way would be most efficient I’d say.

He’s using a 3G USB dongle so that’s not even an option,It’s kinda like a flash drive,But provides 3G connectivity.
In simple terms,3G = Wireless internet provided by the cellular phone carrier.

Thanks ROberto400 and the others for the help, i actually found a way, my pc’s don’t have WiFi so i couldn’t use the ad-hoc method, what i did was just go to properties on my 3G modem and clicked on share and chose local connection to share with and i connected my pc to a router via Ethernet cable and set the router to get ip using DHCP which my USB modem would give and put the router to give ips automatically and walla the other machines connected to the router have internet now. was simple. No software, just basic setting.
