Yosemite Clean install?

i have downloaded the Yosemite.dmg around 5.7 gb from mac section. now i want to Clean install this by formatting my mac hd. pls tell me how do i do it?
any video? or tutorial? i searched it but got the tutorial where yosemite was downloaded from Mac App Store and not from the other source. pls do help me.

You only need to boot from the disc during the computer starting process and you will be straight on the installation environment, from there the process is the same…

other source means apart from app store. i have downloaded the dmg not from app store but from the mac section of this forum ..

thats what i am saying.. i cant make it bootable. with some guide i tried to make it bootable. but when i reboot my mac and press the OPTIONS Key.. it does show only my MAC HD not the USB Stick to boot. So how can i proceed without seeing the USB Stick ..

You simply have to restore the dmg to the USB device.
If you can’t restore it, then the dmg is bad and you need to download another.
Why aren’t you downloading it from the appstore?

i could successfully restore but it wasnt bootable.. ((

if the dmg is bad.. how can the mac successfully verified it and mounted it? even by clicking the mounted dmg the installer starts but the later it says u cant install it when dmg is in hard drive.. mac asks to put dmg in the external drive.. but when i restore dmg in thumb drive, i cant boot from it..

A working dmg should be bootable after the process…

Can you check the dmg for an efi partition? Simply open it and check if there is an efi folder. Can you also give me the size of the dmg?

size of dmg is 5.7 gb on the disk…
when i open the packaged content.. There is no EFI folder…

I think that the image is bad. Something that you could try without downloading a new image are these: http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/16/make-os-x-yosemite-boot-install-drive/
Or using a program for hackintosh in the hope that they have custom patches to make it bootable, like Unibeast and myHack or even MacPwn…

Just download Yosemite from the app store, afterwards just use this tutorial to put it on a USB and it will work.

i finally managed to install from my dmg in a clean way..
i just mounted the dmg.
then dragged the mounted dmg to application folder.
then with command line i made it bootable.
and installed
