You can jtag to play games from the xbox 360, I have never jtagged and not keeping up with the scene on jtagging so not sure if jtagging still requires soldering or not but its possible to jtag any xbox 360, or the easier method is to buy a DVD emulator such as wasabi360 or xk3y and play games from the hard drive with that.

Dude, I just told you. You can either jtag or buy a DVD emulator or you can flash the 360 to burn and play games. Which one do you want to go for?
xk3y is the most popular one so I would recommend getting that and if you want to flash the 360 then you will have to get CK3 and probe V3 and VIA 6421 serial raid controller if your PC doesnt already have a SATA port. Which dashboard is your 360 on? Google for the dashboard version you have and see if it can be jtagged or not.

if you have the samsung or the BenQ drive then you dont need to buy anything extra. You will have to connect the drive to your PC wiith t a SATA cable, power up the drive using your 360 and follow the jungle flasher tutorial. I think the Samsung drive can be bricked but the BenQ drive cannot be bricked as long as you have the original key.bin file. If you have any of the lite on drives then you will have to get CK3 and probe V3.
