Windows 10 installation questions

August 2nd, 2016

A couple of questions about the switch to Windows 10.
Which version should I use?
I’ve been using win7 ultimate since it first came out
Should I first upgrade and then do a fresh install after my hardware is identified?
I have a legal license for Win7, but should I use kmspico instead and scrap the license?
thanks for your input.

Enterprise, If you are using Enterprise activation then that’s the best way to go.

I would go for the legit upgrade to Win 10 enterprise. I can hardly tell the difference between 7 and 10 the way Ive configured it, and you have the advantages of more up to date services and stuff including Direct X12 which win 7 wont get. As well as that you have like 1 month to revert back to 7 if you dont like it for a reason, but saying that if you dont revert back, your Win 7 key will stop working and your stuck with 10.
Only downside ill mention that others have complained about, is that it does do automatic reporting with problems to mircosoft, but it its easy enough to turn off I think.

If you are happy going to Pro, then use the free upgrade..
If you want the extra features of Enterprise, then you will need to use KMSpico
or similar, which works fine..

you can upgrade to win 10 pro with the license you have for win 7 ultimate. for others you need that activator but if you dont need anything else than whats in pro , ofc using original version is better , there is no meaning of using another version then.
if yours is oem license which means it is already linked to your motherboard so further identification wont be done ; just your license will be converted. if it is retail version you dont need any kind of hardware verification at all. once you converted your license from win 7 to win 10 , you will have a little amount time like a few weeks for coming back to win 7 ; in case you didnt like win 10. if there is a way for converting your license directly to win 10 through a microsoft site without downloading its update via windows ; it would be best. and then you just download official install files ; burn them to disc or use it via usb stick for making fresh install without dealing windows update but i m not sure if this method is available yet , can have a better insight than me about it. if it is not available , you will download win 10 via windows update , then will update to 10. after activation ; download full installer and make a fresh install then activate your license again. win 10 already have enough problems , dont risk the chances of adding more problems cuz of transition between operating systems.
i would wait 4-5 months more before for going to win 10 , you have time until 29 july 2016 for free upgrade.
