WiFi hacks

ok, this is my problem, I`ve downloaded WiFi hacks and all though ppl said that they found it very useful I can`t agree much. I learned some new things, but when I tried to make it work, or put it into practice I failed. The thing is I was trying to break/hack WEP encryption but to do that I needed some tools which was difficult to find, I manage to find some for windows, but when I need the second have (tools for processing pcap files) I discovered that all of the tools are for linux.
my question is this, can someone tell me the name of a working tool for win, is it even possible to crack WEP with only windows as OS?
any material regarding cracking WEP for win I`ll find very useful,
p.s. my Ralink wireless card does not support airodump for win but it supports for linux

I have posted a download for win wifi cracking but it is very basic as in you can crack WEP but it does not cover MAC spoofing(such as MAC Cloning) I would recommend using a linux distro for wifi cracking. You can do so much more. The above post gave you a link to a very old knoppix live CD. Download it if you want but it is a waste of time try something along the lines of BackTrack3 I prefer the 3Beta because I found a lot of bugs in the final but they all work well for wifi cracking.

Trust me I know what I am talking about, I am in a cracked network now. BT is also good for DNS spoofing.

BackTrack is the best way to crack WiFi securities. Make sure you have a compatible WLAN card with RFMON (monitor mode) to sniff the traffic, there should be a list of cards on their site, generic Windows cards won’t work that well .

from experence, the 2 biggest problems facing WEP hacking are
1. getting the right card/chipset
2. getting close enough to the AP to get a good signal
the ‘backtrack 3’ network penitration testing live cd works quite well, as it has all the tools you need

Just download the distro from the aforementioned link, then burn it to a CD or transfer onto a USB and you can boot into BackTrack without installing it to the HDD. There are ways to do this on Windows but it’s tedious and most support for WiFi securities are on Linux.

I know that linux is better OS for this, but as I said on my first message, I want to do something with Win as OS

It’s not worth the time with Windows. Just download, burn, boot and you will be fine Make sure you have a proper card though
EDIT: Also make sure you use replay to capture the vectors quicker.

Try aircrack 2.1 for windows, so longs you have a compatible wlan card and xp pro you can crack wep easily. You will also need the airopeek dlls which can be found easily if you google it.

vmware the backtrack3 iso in windows. few commands (can be found w/ google) and a compatible card and about 1hr and you can grab the wep keys you seek.
