Which SSD?

August 7th, 2016

I’ve the Samsung R519 laptop with a 160GB HDD but the health on the HDD is really low and it’s time to change to a SSD, I’ve picked three SSD but don’t know which one is better,
Also I think my laptop is only SATA2 so it won’t take full advantage of the SATA3 SSD,
SanDisk SDSSDHP-064G-G25 64GB,

Answer #1
IMO Samsung and WD ones are pretty good in terms of performance try those.
Answer #2
All good really.
I have a Kingston as system disk in my PC and quite happy with that.
Best go for at least 120 GB though, being your only internal disk.
Answer #3
I use plextor and samsung and they have been very good, for me, but I don’t have any experience with the drives you have shown. I do think that it is very good advice to go bigger with the drive though, at least 120, possibly even higher if your budget can support it.

Of the 3 I’d choose the Kingston, never trusted Sandisk (SD card issues in the past), besides the Sandisk drives sound more like tampons (Standard, Ultra plus) , I agree with that you need a bigger SSD, I don’t know where you are but in the UK you can get a Samsung 840 Evo 250GB for around £120 from Amazon (I should be on commission with these).
