August 7th, 2016

I looking for protection for my computer and im confused in which is the best anti virus and internet security program to download plz recommend what u prefer
Answer #1
As for anti virus, most people here would tell you youve got two options. Nod32 or Kaspersky. I use Nod32 and love it, but alot of people say kaspersky is better. my recommendation is if you have a good computer maybe look at getting kaspersky, but if its not so fast, Nod32 is a really nice small package.

Answer #5
Yeppo, Either ESS (ESET Smart Securit) or KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) are most likely your best choices. You can’t go wrong with either but remember, don’t try installing them both
Good luck mate ^_^
Answer #6
Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 7.0 for me!
Answer #7
Use Symentic Endpoint protection, if you have good memory.
Answer #8
Use Symentic Endpoint protection, if you have good memory.
+1, either use that or Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition 10.1/.2 for XP/Vista. I use that and love that, I agree Kaspersky and GDATA are the best but SAVCE10 is lighter than most products, and NOD32 is going downhill rapidly.
Answer #9
avg
Answer #10
Nod32 – As good or better protection than Kapersky and hogs less resources too

Answer #14
I’m using PC Tools Internet Security 2008 ^_^ i like it much mroe than Nod32/KAV/Avast/Avira XD! ive tried al of the ones ive stated, all of them have at least 1 proble mor more with me, but after using ptis2008 ive felt none at all yet and it picks up alot stuff that nod32 didnt etc.. xD
there isnt a best av or anything. most of the ones listed above are just ones people think are good or ones they areusing and satifys them. why not try them out 1 by 1 til u find a good one? :p

Answer #20
Hey i am telling u seriously.I have tried quick heal,avg,norton,symantec,avast,avira antivir,net protector,nod32 and kasperesky.The result i found is that:-
If u have a fast pc go for kaspersky as it really slows down ur pc if it is not fast.
And NOD 32 the best for who have slow pc or medium pc .It requires less ram and works awesome.
My pc got slow on kaspersky and so i have gone for NOD32 it works smooth. My friends having fast pc use kaspersky it runs smooth there.
So, its up to ur configuration decide.
NOTE:–Any problem full scan in safe mode.NOD32 doesn’t leave any virus my experience.
Answer #21
Used NOD32, Avast, Avira AntiVir among others in the past.
Dont have antivirus software running on my computer anymore since I discovered it is pointless.
Had a trojan on my pc which the installed antivirus scanner didnt detect for months. Repeated scans showed all clear. Computer behaved strangely though with numerous crashes and misterious error reports.
Did a couple of online scans here (in German):
http://virus-protect.org/onlinescan.html
Turns out I had something called Trojan Brilliant Digital Entertainment and some other stuff like Ezula.
Reformatted hard drive. Reinstalled windows XP. Password protected my three user accounts: Admin Safe Mode, Admin and Restricted User – the latter for daily use.
I use a safer browser now (Opera) with Java, Javascript, plugins, cookies and referrer logging all deactivated unless needed.
For small files i use free online scanner services which scan with multiple engines like:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.virscan.org/
http://scanner.virus.org/
http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html

For a quick overview on what is running on my system i do a HijackThis log every once in a while.
You can find it here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
Bottom line: Antivirus software running on a computer gives you a false sense of security which is not justified.
