They all do the same thing block traffic based on acl’s the only difference is the level of control they give, You should concentrate more on the network firewall rather than the host one

I think people are telling you to install comodo firewall, plus your anti virus.
But remember if your on wireless, no protection exists for your computer against people who can easily gain access if they want. Does not mean they will target you, just that wireless makes it easy for them.
But people are telling you to install comodo firewall as the firewall, plus you will need your anti virus, for anti virus.
Answer #18
I don’t have wireless.

I am speaking in general terms, eventually you may want to use it, or get talked into using it.
Answer #20
COMODO BEATS BOTH BY A LONG SHOT! THEIR ISN’T ANY BETTER FREE FIREWALL OUT THEIR AND THEY ARE ALWAYS UPDATING EVERY DAY. BE SAFE DONT REGRET NOT GETTING COMODO FIREWALL, I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR YEARS AND NOT ONE DAMN HACK OR VIRUS. COMODO COMES WITH SAND BOX AND DEFENSE WHICH IS X3 PROTECTION INCLUDING THE FIREWALL.

Only if you are running both at the same time. This is true if you run two anti-virus’ and/or firewalls at the same time. Most of the time, when you install a new anti-virus and/or firewall, they will disable the built in Windows Defender and firewall for you. Some anti-virus’ rarely don’t disable Windows Defender because they are compatible (only a select few are) with each other. Others that don’t disable Windows Defender and not compatible with it are just garbage AV’s. It would be recommended to run only one AV anyway even if it is compatible with Windows Defender.
Comodo is a really good Firewall to use, especially when it’s free. Another good Firewall that I have personally used is Online Armor. I was lucky enough to get two years (2x 1 year subscriptions) for free of the Online Armor ++ version. It has kept me malware free since I installed it.
Though I’d recommend sticking with Comodo. If you have ESET Smart Security, I’d recommend uninstalling it and using ESET NOD 32 Anti-Virus alongside Comodo’s Firewall to avoid conflicts and slow downs of your computer.

If I’m not mistaken, you cannot disable just the anti-spyware protection in ESET. If you were to disable that, you would also be disabling the entire AV and be left with just the On-Demand scanner. It shouldn’t slow your computer down much at all any way. Both can be used at the same time without issues. But be sure that if you do install Comodo, there should be an option to NOT install the Anti-virus that comes packaged with it. You should make sure you untick the box that says to install the AV.

I guess you’re right. I remember it was around a year ago that the Firewall installation asked if you wanted the anti-virus installed along with it. The option to install the anti-virus was by default checked to install. I guess they changed that now.
I’m not 100% on this, but I believe that in order to use GeekBuddy, it will cost you money. So unless you would be willing to pay for some “Geek” to fix a malware problem, I’d advise to not even install it. In a malware test I’ve seen when they (Comodo) first introduced GeekBuddy, there was no way of disabling pop-ups that tried to get you to pay for their (GeekBuddy) services. Not sure if they have fixed that issue (or if it even was an issue) or not.
Like I said in the previous post, I have been using Online Armor with a paid license (got two one year licenses for free) for the last two years so it’s been a while since I have tried to install Comodo. That’s why I’m not 100% familiar with everything. However, Comodo is always active and updates their products regularly and does a very good job at protecting your PC. My OA++ license runs up in 10 days from now and will be switching to Comodo for a while till I can save up enough money to buy a new license for OA++.
Answer #26
I also installed SuperAntySpyware. Is it necessary ?
Answer #27
It’s always handy to keep it around when you need it.
