.AVI is nothing but a container. Basically if you have limited space then your should download Xdiv/DivX releases. Both codec are pretty much as efficient and XviD is the Scene standard. Basically DVDRips are movies that you will get the most out of. They give great quality for a small amount of HDD space (700-1400MB). Converting movies to DVD format is another deal. You can use software such as WinAVI Video Converter or ConvertXtoDVD to easily convert your movies. Here are downloads for them:
ConvertXtoDVD:

WinAVI Video Converter:
http://~ Dead file host ~/files/68427631/WinAVI_Video_Converter_v8.0.zip
These programs are quite easy to use. ConvertXtoDVD practically makes the entire conversion and burning process automatic, all you have to do is click a few buttons. Also, check out this post, explaining the entire movie jargon:

Good luck mate ^_^

Xvid is pretty much the same codec as Divx. Avi is the best dvd rip, high quality, low size, good on DVD, though if you want the best quality, download 720p or 1080i, they are incredibly high quality, but also very big files

Xvid is pretty much the same codec as Divx. Avi is the best dvd rip, high quality, low size, good on DVD, though if you want the best quality, download 720p or 1024p(not sure about that name), they are incredibly high quality, but also very big files
Again, AVI is just a container
Also, the name is 1080i
Just to clarify things

ah though it was 1080i, but then i saw a post with 1024p.. so i went with that lol

1. If you have a DivX compatible disc player for your TV or something, id carry on burning to disc as such.
2. IF you dont have one, id recommend buying an external HDD rather then burning them all to disc.

Instead of converting to Vob DVD’s I prefer to make Data DVD’s instead that way whatever be the container I can play the Dvd’s on My PC wenever i want w/ot loss or change in quality
Offcourse a Second HD or External would be another alternative
Answer #8
Just burn the AVI’s as data. then buy yourself a standalone that plays DIVX/XVID and you’re all set. It will be the best thing you ever do That’s what I do and I have about 1000 DVDs full of avis Just insert disk and watch.

Why burn to dvd?
Just buy an external 320 GB HD, they’re cheap right now.
Any avi file (includes divx, xvid, etc) is good.
What you really need to learn are the different kinds of releases such as TS, TC, CAM, etc so you would know what quality you are downoading. Be wary though that sometimes they are mislabeled, either deliberately or not, so look for screenshots then.

Also the majority of movies ripped here are 700Mb so you could burn them to a cd either.

if you want to burn to dvd use
convertXtoDVD ( its what i use and it works)
use flashget to download your files
download avi’s as they all are mostly. what i do is download them match 2 of the same type of movies like say hitman and death sentence put them to dvd formatt takes me about 90-120 min , then delete it off your computer then you have cleared more space so you can have more hard drive Room
look for screen shots people Label them as Dvd sometimes and there not so make sure its the quality you want, or else wait a little while and im sure it will be out,
