What Is DVDR & What’s The Usage?

I found many DVDR’s in size like 4-6gb…so what is it, bluray kinda? And there are no screen provided…so what is the usage of it? Can anybody pls explain…

They are the retail DVDs. The ones you can buy from the store. You know with menus, compatible with dvd players and so on.
You just burn them in a DVD-R and play them with your dvd player.

Thanx for your reply, I need to know another thing…which one is better PAL or NTSC? And What Is R1 In DVDR…I Found Green Lantern’s DVDR R1 & DVDR NTSC, Which one Do u prefer and why…pls help me
