What Difference Between Movies Dvd Releases?
August 5th, 2016
I agree. so confusing!
It really varies from movie to movie, sorry to say.
Some “unrated” movies are a lot more graphic, in terms of sexual content, nudity, or violence. “Special, Extended” or “Director’s Cut” editions generally have scenes that didn’t originally make it into the movie. These can provide more backstory and other times it’s sort of apparent why they were cut. A good example of a “Director’s Cut” that varies greatly from the original was “Daredevil.” Honestly, if you’re going to see that film, see the DC edition.
A good example of it not making much of a difference is in “SAW.” There wasn’t really a whole lot of difference between the original and “unrated” versions, but the infamous amputation scene seemed a bit longer and there was different audio (sound of bone being sawn through).
