Also how do you tell? I am guessing if the same name is mentioned more than a few times? What do you think of this? I cannot find other keygens for the app and have read that people mainly trust kaspersky and bitdefender, both of which do not read positive on this file.

That’s way too many to be a false positive, lol. False positives are only considered IMO 1-4. And even then I’m kinda worried.
Don’t execute that file. Period.

what app is it that your searching for?
imho, that is a virus, would NOT run that on my system, alternatively you can try it in a sandbox, which is prevent any damage to your system should you want to run it anyways..

cheers, strange that kaspersly and BD dont pick it up when they are considered to be some of the top choices. comodo picked it up so i ran it through virustotal. im not running it

Eh, it all depends. There’s a difference between online scanners & actual updated anti virus’ with the latest virus definitions. It’d probably detect that crap in a heartbeat.

Not necessarily, online scanners such as virustotal.com always update their definitions, I have never failed with them! Unlike the ‘traditional av softwares’ Norton, McCafee, and Avast, etc. Online scanners are much more dedicated to removing the latest threats because of being directly tied to the internet ( it’s a 24 / 7 365 day online operation) as opposed to some software that was created and left out in the wild, and when they want to release an update they do it. I would personally stick with online scanners, no matter which one you use, use the online scanner vs. software.

If it’s a keygen and not a patch or a cracked .exe, then it’s easy, you can just run it in Sandboxie, if you have doubts about it.
