Video Tag Editor Help Please (Mainly MKV & AVI)

Can someone help me with adding more info to a video file so it shows up in my media library???
I know how to edit my Mp3 file with Mp3 Tag Editor and add Genre, Year, Album Cover etc.. but I can’t figure it out with MKV & AVI files..
I just wanna edit the Genre, Year and Add a cover so it can be more organized in my Media Player..
Any help is greatly appreciated.. Thanks
