Unexpected end of archive

December 30th, 2013

So i got like 10 files with incrementing extra file extensions eg:
file.rar.001
file.rar.002… etc
im assuming i open the first one with winrar and it then finds the rest, but i get ” unexpected end of archive”
any ideas why?

Answer #1
the rar might have been split with hjsplit. try joining them with hjsplit first, then unraring.
Answer #2
You are more than likely missing a .rar file, or one of them is corrupt, compare the file sizes by viewing them in windows explorer, they should all be exactly the same size apart from the last one, which will be smaller.
Answer #3
All are there, all sizes perfect..
Answer #4
select the file->open->click repair archieve
Answer #5
Did that :/

I’ve encountered this problem many times when I download stuff, mostly games with multiple parts gave me this issue. What did I do? Either I redownload the part (if you know which is the culprit) or just treat it as a sour grape…
P.S.
& just ignore it. You can think like this, “maybe this is an unworthy download so I’m not going to waste my energy & time on it anymore”…END OF STORY…
