two netbooks i like.. what one to choose?

I’ve nearly decided to buy a netbook..
its a choice between these two…
can anyone advice the pro’s and cons??
bearing in mind, i will be putting 2gb ram in , and prefer to use xp.
(but i read sumwhere that upgrading the ram in the asus wont make any difference??)

if i can press you further, is that a personal preference or is it technically better?
or are they all about the same?
The HP is better for a number of reasons:
1. Bigger Hard Drive (250GB vs 160GB on the ASUS)
2. It has bluetooth while the ASUS doesn’t
3. Slightly bigger screen (10.1 vs 10 on the ASUS
Other then these differences they’re pretty much equal.
Both have around the same battery life,Maybe an hour plus
on the HP (according to reviews)

the hp only has one jack for an all in one headphone/mic, if i just had headphones plugged in there, would they work ok?
Before i answer this one I’d just like to mention (incase you haven’t noticed)
that it has an integrated mic. Since it’s only a single jack you cannot
fully use a headset (defined as headphones with combined microphone) as
2 jacks are required so you can only choose between the mic to the
headphones in such a case,If it’s headphones alone then there
shouldn’t be any problem.
Id go for ASUS due to better build quality imo, but HP is the better product on an unbiast decision.

a snazzy blue colour for just 8 pounds extra.. but i think its a slightly different model.. perhaps not such long battery life…
i guess i’ll make my mind up very very soon! teh blue is interesting.. but i think its not quite the same.

This one is the 210-1003SA model while the one on ebuyer is 210-1011EA.
From what i can see the specs are near identical as well as battery life,it’s
advertised as 3.5h but according to reviews it’s alot more than that:

So seems this blue one has a somewhat better keyboard.

I guess cosmetic appearance is an issue, if both machines are prettty much tied on performance.

are said to have a 93% full size keyboard,So seems

well.,,.now i saw the demo video of the black hp, I like it more than the blue (though the blue is slightly bigger keyboard) (edit: just read your edit.. so im not even loosing out on keyboard size ).. .. the 1011 lid has a pattern on it..
I also like the look of the asus…. its a close call…
think im going to go for the 210-1011ea

$400 for a netbook? Jesus man, that’s ridiculous. I bought my sister a laptop for her birthday in May that had a dual core Pentium, 4GB of DDR3, a 250GB HDD and webcam for $299 from Wal*Mart.
