Toshiba Satellite wireless

October 30th, 2013

so i got this laptop…
toshiba satellite l20-182
but my wireless is not working or it’s not install? i have a switch for wireless on my keyboard…can anyone help? how can i turn on wireless or install or…?

Answer #1
If you have a switch turn it ON. Then dont use the fn+f# to put wireless on. Go to network adpters and check if you have your wireless adpter listed. IF NOT you must INSTALL the driver. But it should be listed becouse Operating System usualy have drivers built in, so you can just right click and press “ENABLE”.
Then you should see wireless icon near the clock and you can choose your wireless network and connect
Answer #2
Probably a missing driver,Get this app,Run and provide the output:
http://www.mediafire.com/?cmd5ty9iv1ng1re
Also specify what OS your using.
Edit: This may sound dumb,But I have to ask,Did you actually check the list of available wireless networks to see if there’s anything there?
Answer #3
i’m using xp and no i didn’t check list of wifi networks cuz theres no list
Answer #4
How bout what I requested^
Not sure what your saying in regards to the list,Your saying you can’t find such a list near the clock area or that you can but there’s
nothing in it? Double check each icon in there,It’s possible that the wireless is managed by a 3rd party app that came with the driver.
Answer #5
theres no icon near the clock, thats what im saying…i installed this app that u send me but nothing changed…i went to network adap. and theres no wireless hardware installed
Answer #6
should i try wireless network setup wizard?
Answer #7
madzho replied: i installed this app that u send me but nothing changed...
Who said it’s gonna make any “changes”? It’s beyond me why you assumed this,It’s a data collection tool
that collects the hardware unique id’s (which are useful for finding compatible drivers),Your suppose to run it,Copy & Paste
the output onto this thread!
Answer #8
oh…here u go

There’s no wireless adapter on the list,Either it’s disabled from BIOS or the original owner removed the internal wireless card
before he sold it to you. Restart and enter the BIOS,This is usually done by tapping F10 or ESC but do notice the on-screen
text at the bottom such as “press x to enter bios” or “press x to enter rom-based setup),Look for anything containing wifi/wlan/wireless.
Edit: Just did a lil research and found this:

Experience seamless connectivity with Wireless LAN 802.11b/g (on selected models)
It’s possible that it didn’t had wireless to begin with! As for the button being there,It was probably done to cut manufacturing costs.
Just get a cheap USB wireless adapter.
